A little bit of inspiration....

With the whole wedding industry grinding to an abrupt halt, it’s been a very unusual start to the year. What is usually the busiest most chaotic time of the year for me has become the total opposite!

I feel so sorry for all the couples who have had to postpone their weddings, but at least there’s something amazing for them all to look forward to during the time of lockdown!

I wonder though, how many couples have recently got engaged too, with the time spent together bringing so many couples closer together. (yes I’m soppy)!

So, that makes me think there might be a lot of future brides gathering idea’s online, before they’re actually able to go out and start looking at dresses!

I’ve taken a few photo’s of some of my samples showing various details of dresses for anyone wanting something a bit different to what’s offered in most bridal boutiques.

So in no particular order…..

One of the recent emerging trends for bridalwear is a bodice with built in cups.

A clean classic look, with lace appliqué detail.

Back detail with cut out panels and lace appliqué.

Turtle necks are growing in popularity for the first time since the seventies.

A contrast lining, if you want to add a bit of discreet colour.

Lace back detail with pearl beading.

Patchwork guipure lace appliqué, a big trend at the moment.

Contrast lace detail, which doesn't have to be as bold as this.

Digital silk printing, if you want a dress that's truly unique!

Stars. A design detail that's getting more and more popular.

Low back detail. A way to show off your back without feeling too exposed.

Engineered lace, this technique can be worked around your design. Lace is very versatile.

Lace appliqué and pintucks to add a bit of interest.

And of course, if you want something truly unique, I can always mock your idea up into a small sample so you can see how your idea’s would work for your dream wedding dress.
