I'm Ali and I'm based in Downend, in North Bristol. I've been dressmaking since 1992, and started Unique Dress in 2006.
I specialise in creating bespoke dresses for mature ladies and brides wanting something a bit different. I also love doing bridal alterations (dare I say, the more complictaed the better!)
In fact I do all sorts of alterations, so if you're a bridesmaid, a wedding guest, mother of the bride or groom, going to your prom, or just have some everyday clothes that don't fit perfectly, please get in touch.
So am I the right dressmaker for you?
The answer might be "yes", if you're a bride-to-be who's thinking any of the following:
“I want to wear a dress that's totally me…”
“I've found my dream dress, but it doesn't fit very well…”
“I can’t imagine going into a shop and finding something that’s truly me!"
But don’t just take my word for it, read my Google reviews here.

Over the last twenty years, I’ve made lots of dresses. From glam and glitzy to more traditional and classic… I do love the sheer variety of what I get to create with my clients. See more here.

When it comes to bridal alterations, in the 20 years I've been doing this, there's no problem I've not seen - and I always try to come up with the best solution possible. I've lost count now of how many dresses I've altered.

There’s more to creating a bespoke wedding dress than you might imagine. I invite you to see ‘behind the scenes’. A visual scrapbook of my process, my inspiration and some ‘off piste’ moments. See more here.
